Lupin the Words vol. 9: Notes and Download!

Mr Davis and I went to work on creating a new podcast for you all... last Sunday. Now that it's all edited together, we're gonna share it with you. Audio quality went down a tiny bit from last time, I think, but it's really quite listenable.

Notes about the programme:

Opening Music: Lupin the Third Theme by Monkey Majik

Right away: Introductions and mailbag 1 - a Zenigata dorama?

00:06:58 Mailbag 2 (not really from the mailbag) - Pycal: Supernatural or Super-Phoney?

00:10:51 Mailbag 3: How far can Zenigata bend the rules without breaking character?

00:16:36 Mailbag 4: What specials/movies, etc. were the characters featured most prominently?

00:22:50 Mailbag 5: Lupin and Fujiko's "Relationship"

00:31:30 Mailbag 6: What Lupin movie/TVSp. really "dropped the ball?"

00:42:17 Discussion Topic: Lupin and the main cast were clearly created as foils to each other (Lupin's West to Goemon's East, etc.)

00:52:33 We talk a bit about getting out other podcasts with guest stars and such.

00:54:51 Episode Discussion: Lupin the Third Part II - Episode 5: Gold Smuggling 101 / I'll Teach You How to Transport Gold Bars

01:13:27 News: About the LupintheThird.com/Lupinthe3rd.com domain acquisitions, No new TV special this year besides Lupin vs Conan, I rant about the history of the LtT.com site for like an hour or two.

Ending Music: Funny Walk in Old Fashion - Remix (Not sure which)

Stick around for the stinger after my rant's over.

New site addresses and reminiscing.

Just wanted to bring to everyone's attention that the site is now accessible from two new domain names:

http://www.Lupinthe3rd.com

and

http://www.LupintheThird.com

We will be re-adopting the latter as our site branding, as "LupintheThird.com" was the site's second name (LupintheThird.net being its third,"Tales of the Wolf" its first). In related news, I will probably not be renewing the lupinthethird.org domain, so if anyone wants to catch it on the domain "drop", they should probably act very soon (my registration expires in, like, a week - not sure how long the renewal grace period is before the domain drop kicks in).

Come to think of it, it's been about ten years since I started this website back on Yahoo! GeoCities (geocities.com/talesofthewolf, as I recollect). Believe it or not, GeoCities was still around for ages, and only recently announced their closure. The influence of GeoCities on the young internet was huge, particularly for anime fandom - anime shrines, fansub trading sites. The internet was a goldmine of informational scraps waiting to be harvested. With the eventual formation of sites like Wikipedia where information is more centralized, the need for people to create tiny, free GeoCities shrines and joining WebRings has long since past.
